PSYCHOLOGICAL Testing

Our Services

A Psychological Assessment helps us understand how a person thinks, learns, remembers, and manages emotions or behavior.

It includes tests, activities, and interviews that look at attention, memory, problem-solving, language, motor skills, emotional well-being and more.

At the end of the assessment, you’ll receive a written report that highlights strengths and challenges. The results can also provide evidence to support diagnoses such as ADHD, learning differences, memory concerns, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), or mood and anxiety disorders.

This information can help guide treatment, educational support, and overall planning.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at info@veemahconsulting.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

We provide psychological children and adults starting at age 2.

Most of our testing clients are between 3 and 13 years old, but we offer assessments suitable for both young children and older clients.

After reviewing the referral reason, our providers will determine which type of testing is appropriate.

A referral is required to begin scheduling. Referrals must come from a healthcare provider, therapist, social worker, or another support professional.

Ask your provider to complete the referral form at the bottom of this page, or have them send their own referral to:

Once received, we will review the information and reach out to the client directly.

Most psychological evaluations include the following components:

  • Two in-clinic appointments, though this varies based on individual needs. Appointment one: A clinical interview lasting 2–3 hours. Appointment two: Formal testing lasting 2–5 hours.

  • Online questionnaires: Usually taking 1–3 hours. Depending on individual or family needs.

  • Note: Providers may also send online questionnaires to family members or community supports, such as teachers, if additional information is needed to complete the assessment. If this step is necessary, your provider will ask you to share the appropriate contact information.

Your provider will let you know when to complete the online assessments. These questionnaires are typically emailed to you after your first appointment, although some clients may complete them in the office depending on individual or family needs.

They are completed through a secure platform. These forms are required and provide important background information for the evaluation.

Appointment 1 – Diagnostic Assessment / Clinical Interview

Interview typically lasts  2–3 hours. A licensed psychologist or qualified provider will:

  1. Review your history, concerns, and goals
  2. Explore cognitive, academic, social-emotional, and mental health factors
  3. Discuss mood, behavior, learning concerns, and coping styles

This appointment helps determine which specific tests are needed for the second session.

Appointment 2 – Formal Testing

Testing typically lasts 3–5 hours. You or your child may complete:

  1. Standardized tests and questionnaires
  2. Tasks measuring attention, memory, problem-solving or other areas
  3. Activities tailored to the purpose of the evaluation

Providers also observe behavior and responses to gain additional insight.

The provider selects tests based on:

  • Information from the referral
  • Intake paperwork
  • Developmental level and age
  • Presenting concerns
  • Academic, medical, or social history
  • Goals for the evaluation

This individualized approach ensures that every assessment is meaningful and accurate.

After all parts of the evaluation are complete:

  • You will receive a written report summarizing results and recommendations.
  • You will attend a feedback session (usually 30 minutes) to review findings and discuss next steps.

Results are not pass/fail. They outline strengths, challenges, and areas of concern to help guide:

  • Diagnostic clarification
  • Learning or behavioral recommendations
  • Mental health or therapy referrals
  • Support strategies
  • Insights about coping and functioning and more!

Assessments are structured, supportive, and designed to help clients receive the right care.

You will receive the final report 1–4 weeks after your last appointment. During this time, providers score assessments, write and format the report, and complete a thorough review.

Once the report is finalized, our office will contact you to schedule a feedback session.

We kindly ask that you do not call for report updates unless it has been 4 weeks since your final appointment.
